Clinical Case Summary: Abrasion Restoration with Composite Fillings
The patient presented with cervical abrasion on teeth #23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 33, and 36 commonly associated with aggressive tooth brushing habits. Composite restorations were planned for all affected teeth to prevent further damage and enhance aesthetics.
Tooth #26 was restored using the sandwich technique because the abrasion was deep, beginning with a base layer of Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) for chemical bonding and fluoride releasing properties, followed by a composite layer to ensure strength and a natural appearance.
Teeth #23, 24, 25, 27, 33, and 36 were treated with direct composite restorations after thorough cleaning, etching, and bonding procedures.
The final outcome provided the patient with smooth, aesthetic restorations that offer both protection and an improved smile.
